I have a dual boot configuration with UnleashX and XBMC. XBMC was streaming movies fine, showing RSS feeds, and showing the weather fine. I installed XDSL and dinked around with it for a while to browse the net and what not. Afterward, I adjusted the system clock in UnleashX to the current time because my backups were not working. I don't believe I messed with the Network, but now I cannot get an IP no matter what I do. I've tried static with a DNS and DHCP, but I have no luck. I cannot FTP to the console either. I cannot figure out what's going on with this machine. Just the other day I was streaming movies via Navi-X and now nothing.
I would try a visual inspection to make sure the cable is connected and you have a linked and status light. Just look at the back of the xbox and on the front of your router, you should see the right port light up on the router when it's connected.
Next i would go into the settings of the router and make sure everything is set up correctly in the router (google or search afterdawn if you don't understand). Make sure it sees the dns and it's sending out ip addresses to more than one computer.
More than likely it's your router and not your xbox.
I guess the last thing i would check are the settings file within the dash, there should be specific ip settings within those files. There are some situations when the dash doesn't save the settings and it causes problems just like this. The best way to get around that issue is to edit the files yourself.
If none of the above work then i would use an exploit to see if it would change the connectivity issues. If nothing works let me know and i'll help you figure this out.
I reinstalled the softmod and I can now FTP to the xbox, but XBMC still will not grab internet. I can FTP while in XBMC and in UnleashX but no weather in XBMC. I might just end up reinstalling XBMC to save the headache.
I'm checking the settings files in XBMC to see if there's anything out of the ordinary here.
