i was wondering if it was possible to download Guitar hero extra songs off the net anywhere?

if its not possible

can you use wii shop on modded wii??

or do you have to be updated to latest firmware?

Currently I haven't found a way to get any DLC wads.
I assume no one knows how to pack the wad yet because of the way GH:WT's DLC works.

Nintendo updated the Shop Channel (and others I believe) in order to 'force' people to update their Wiis (and of course prevent homebrew).

You can still get the updated channels without installing a full update by obtaining the channel WADs.
You'll have to google or someone else will have to answer you as to which WADs you need though because I don't know.
