Installing into a car im guessing u will have limited space which means a tight fit and the 360 already has problems with heat so it will probbaly get RROD quickly. u can do the fix now and it wont hurt. I did 2 this weekend, one did not have RROD but showed signs on failure so i went ahead and did it before it got worse and it is good now.

But even with the RROD fix u will need very good place to put it and have very good airflow. and with the heat that builds up inside of a car in the summer i would imagine the same heat would build up in the 360 and then when u turn it on even if the inside of the car has been Air conditioned the inside of the 360 would still be hot. Risky if u ask me but u said u got it for free so whynot lol

if your going to be putting it in a car, then i would do the fix for it, just to try and pro-long the life. in a car it wont take it long to red ring probably, but maybe you will be lucky and not have to deal with it.

as far as the window, theres some tape made by 3m, i forget exactly what it is but if you look around www.mnpctech.com they talk about it in one of their videos. they use it on computers and ive used it putting in case windows on computers before and it worked perfect.

o so just use double side tape, that was easy lol. but yea about the car part, i'll be adding a third fan and it'll be mounted on the rear deck and (none of the vents are covered, and there's a ac vent right behind it so don't think it'll be much of a problem, thanks guess i'll just do the fix too
thanks

Also make sure the AC vent doesnt cause condesation to build up or u could end up with a fried 360 that cannot be fixed.
