ok. because if it reads store bought games, then the 360 did not get the hacked FW written on it. if it doesnt read the real games, then you have bigger problems as the flash was totally messed up.

Make sure you use abgc360 GUI to check all your games and the newest version needs the new .ini file to be able to connect to database. Then use Imgburn to burn them on Verbatim's at 2.4x speed and don't forget to set the layerbreak to 1913760. If you aren't doing this that may be your prob. I am a nwbie and I wasted 8 verbatims before I got it right. If I can help anymore just send me a private msg.

newest is 1.4 which you have. but just make sure it plays real games first, and we'll go from there.

I re-flashed the drive. when i put in a backed up game it thinks its a dvd. it starts the game like a movie for a second then goes to the white screen asking for a xbox360 game. it does the same thing to original xbox purchased games also. I still havent tried a original xbox360 game. i couldnt talk the ex into giving me one back. so i need to go to walmart tommorow and buy one to test that.

Well if the hitachi drive can't read original games, then you messed up the flash. You need to reflash the original firmware back on to the drive with your correct drive key.

The reason your drive isn't reading games now is either you didn't get the correct drive key, or you didn't put it on the hacked firmware.

so i used the restore.bat to restore the drive and it still does the same thing.

when i was running the flashix.bat it never asked me for a key. i have the key.bin file though. and when i ran the restore.bat it also didnt ask for a key file or key. i must be doing something wrong then.

Just wondering but this hitachi is the one that came with the 360 and not a replacement drive correct?
I know it's a dumb question but I figured I'd get it out of the way.
Thanks

i restored it again. and when i flashed it this time i made sure i did the flashix I 1672. still have the same problem. i really need some help now. i dont know if the drive is toast or if there is a program that will put it back to factory for sure. because restore wont do it. If I run the flashix again after i flash it i get the error that says either this already has 1.4 or its not in mode b. which tells me that it accepted a flash but still wont act right. thanks for the help. it is much appreciated.
