got my self a Wii with D2pro. new land for me ... and my kids ...

now with every backup game I am requested to Update or cancel. So far i cancelled...

Can I update without issues? Is it normal I get this Update question always? Or should I be connected to the internet and update first from theren online? you see, many questions, can anybody provide me links to infos on above mentioned? many thanks!

btw i am using a pal tv and have pal backup games

If all your plaining on using is a Modchip to boot backups then as of now it is perfectly fine to update the Wii via game disc as long as it is a PAL update.

If you are going to use homebrew applications etc. etc. then you will need to wait before updating and see what the effects the new update will have. Like now the 3.3/3.4 update can limit homebrew capabilities (however there is a work around for that now) but future updates could hinder homebrew even more.

So it is always better to get online and check to see what new firmware has on both Modchips and Homebrew.

If you have the d2pro make sure you have the latest firmware installed on it to help prevent region briicks

burn the utility iso to a disc and update.
You can also change settings afterwards like if you want to dismiss updates and stuff
