Switching DVD drives between to Xboxs?

Here is what I have

(Xbox 360 1)
Lite-on DVD Drive
Not-modded
HDMI Port

(Xbox 360 2)
Samsung DVD Drive
Modded
No HDMI port

I need to make my first xbox modded. If I just switch the Drives so that the xbox with the HDMI port will get the Samsung Drive, will the xbox with the HDMI port be modded?

nope, not that easy. best place to start with is all the guides floating around telling how to swap drives.
