That's what I am informed, that all the UK fixs work in ireland, for the updating problem.

Worked for me on two separate Starview 4 boxes in two separate houses. One went through the updating process maybe 10 times the other worked first time. Not sure if Starview 4 and Super USB are the same though but don't think there are different versions of the USB.
Doesn't help much I know but thought you might like to know it did work so you can persevere !!

No there is only the one Starview 4 The Box Super USB, so it is nice to know that it does work for you, hope other's have the same end result.

Don't you have to pay some Russian chap royalties for using the winking smiley ??
Only small glitch with the Starview 1 is that the EPG behaves a bit odd - when you view the epg it actually changes channels as you scroll up and down without pressing the OK button. Small price to pay though in my opinion.

If it helps I have installed v1.06 beta as referred to by noelyf and it is working fine in Kildare (on 4 USB boxes so far). Not sure if it will help but system information on all boxes gives me :
Model ID c500
S/W version 1.06 Beta
Boot version b11
Date Dec 05 2008
If you performed a factory reset then you might have to load the logo file again as well. Might be a bit basic but remember to turn the emu key on again as it might switch off when you update the firmware. I didn't have to re-scan channels after updating to v1.06 Beta. V1.05 definitely does not work here so if you have that version then you should change to v 1.06 Beta.
Might be rambling a bit here but trying to help as best I can.

Definitely not right. I'm not really an expert in this stuff but we might get there by trial and error. The date seems to be the only difference between your box and mine.
The files on my box are :
Logo - TheBoxSuperUSB_BG_LOGO_080904_.bin
Available here http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html Go into The Box Super USB folder and firmware and you will see the logo file.
Firmware - TheboxSuperUSB_V1.06_Beta.BIN
Available here http://www.4shared.com/account/file/7524...r_USB_V106.html and also in the folder with the logo file but I downloaded this one.
Firmware is a RAR file and if you can't open you can download trial software to open it from here http://www.win-rar.com/downloadnow.html
This works the same as Zip files so you just need to extract the file to use it.
Sorry if this is a bit patronising, I'm trying to help as best I can. Good job I finished work early for Xmas otherwise I wouldn't have the time.

I recall someone saying that you can't sort the channels as they are in channel number order same as on providers boxes. May be wrong though but I have never been able to sort on the USB box. If there is a way to do it somebody please tell us.

sv4 usb sorts the channels auto by channel number as they are on a stb box(suppliers box).thats the order and if you dont like it tuff you cannot change the order,THERE IS NO SORT OPTION(its there but its yellow and you cannot choose it),otherwise you can skip channels you dont want to watch via channel edit>skip option, that way you can keep the channel for future vewing, but when you are channel hopping it will skip past(wont show) the ones you have selected to skip.
