Country-provider: USA AT&T

The phone type is RM-341

Given to me by a friend. I want to use it with an AT&T SIM but it asks for a code. This makes me wonder if this is a Cingular phone (before they merged with AT&T into one company). The sticker on the mic and the screen background image say AT&T though.

I have not entered any codes yet. I read on some websites that this is a BB5 type phone and can only be unlocked by the provider.

I suppose I can try taking it into one of their stores and see if they will do what is necessary to allow me to use my AT&T SIM with it, but I'd rather do this first.
