ok so i turn on the 360 it freezes i reboot a couple of times and eventally get e79 now i know this could be possible problem with hdd or connection but i was also told it may be an update issue has anyone had this problem and cured it any help would be appreciated

hi homesick thanks for reply since i posted i took the console apart to find it was full of dust so i cleaned it all out and modded the xclamps while it was open to see if that would cure it but now im getting error 71 + bottom right red light which i thnk is a dash update error?

i dunno the codes off of the top of my head and i dont have a link, so when you did the fix it changed the error code, and the position of the lights? that seems suspucious. have you ever done an x-clamp fix before?

i know all tehe error codes and the light hasn't changed position e79 and e71 will both lite up the bottom right and i have done well over 200 xclamp mods all with success and no returns i can do them with my eyes closed the clamp mod on this one was to see if it would cure the fault that i have never had before like i say the first fault was e79 which can be

E79: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it.
According to tmbinc: E79 is the error code if xam.xex could not be started, i.e. probably a file system corruption.

to which i tried everything and did nothing to cure the problem
from previous experience of modding the clamps i no that it can cure mst faults so i tried it to my suprise the code changed to e71

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.

i will try the reset codes and post back this may be a learning curve for the scene?
