Hi anyone replying to following treat me as a newbee as I have not fired up my PSP for over a year and the last running Devhook is around .41.

Anyhow tried the .52 followed someones instructions and got no joy, it booted up but when i tried some iso still on my memory they would not load the psp went black and shut down. so i deleted it and went with the easy install .51, all went well I done the firmware upgrade. I then run devhook and it works fine, selected 1 of my iso (who wants to be a millionaire and burnout) and same thing went to load but got the black screen and it shut down. My PSP is still set to 1.5 if that makes any difference. I have run the .51 easy twice to double check.

My iso's worked on .41 so I know their fine.

Any ideas when helping run me through everything in 'simple' terms, as I am thick;)

Thanks in advance

If your on 1.50 i would advise upgrading to 5.00M33-4.

From 1.50 goto 3.52M33, Create a Pandora and MMS at this point and upgrade to 5.00M33 using Dc8.

Devhook is no longer required, and back up ISO's can be played directly using the M33 Driver

Use this guide 3.52 Install

Once on 3.52M33 install this to your MS UPTv5

You can now upgrade to the latest firmware.

The pandora is simply a Battery put into service mode, this allows you to boot to a MS (in this case) rather than the PSP internal NAND (memory).

I am trying the guide for 3.52 update, basically I have run stage 5 and trying stage 6, but keep getting the error message of 'you need at least 75% battery'. My battery shows as full and is also plugged in the mains any ideas?
I am running a 3600 mah (twice size battery)

Got all the way through most guides and your help (January39) but still having a few probs.
I placed 'Buzz Brain...', in the ISO folder and could read this through the PSP but when I selected the file it loaded got past a few screens in the game and locked on a blackscreen, I either had to reboot or use the home button.

What I have not done as per your instructions is upgraded to the latest firmware. If i chose option 3 in upt 'firmware' it says 'a pandora installation already exists on your memory stick', as I had already run this earlier
My choices are, clean ms... or main menu.

How do I upgrade the firmware.

I am also reading about m33-4 to version 5, but when I download the file it says I need a lower version, presumably because in the help files or UPT it had me format the MS.

And in your message you write '..Create a Pandora and MMS at this point and upgrade to 5.00M33 using Dc8.'

I have followed your guide ...use 3.52 and its guide which all worked
then UPTv5 which formatted the card in its guide
That now works but no sign of 3.52???
Where did I go worng?? and what is your bit about dc8

Told you i was a dim wit

In settings>System Information - what does it say?

Using your newly acquired stick, take out the memory stick and battery. Put MS back into PSP, Hold DPAD Left and insert pandora.

This will boot to DC7,Slect install 4.01M33.

Thats it. You can now either update to 5.00M33 or remain at 4.01M33.

Sorry I might have lost the plot somewhere in the guides, my system reads 3.52 m33.

Just to recep what I have done in order
Formatted MS
Run and created m33 creator
then uptv5. Which as part of there instrcutions says format stick (which cleared m33 files). Upon completion placed games in iso, which I can get atv and buzz quiz to work, but buzz brain hangs in a black screen(only games tried so far).i have managed to download 5.0.2 UPT (which placed a second copy on ms) I have downloaded through upt the 401-m33 in the utilities screen but i can not see where you can install/run it?

Where you write 'Using your newly acquired stick, take out the memory stick and battery. Put MS back into PSP, Hold DPAD Left and insert pandora.

This will boot to DC7,Slect install 4.01M33.

Thats it. You can now either update to 5.00M33 or remain at 4.01M33. '

I am a little lost 'newly acquired' are you meaning my stick having UPT on it? And holding down the left dpad done nothing, and insert pandora?

I might have to start again but I have followed the instructions on all the guides, you might have to give me a stage by stage i.e run mms...you get this as a result etc.

Really appreciate you help thanks

In the meantime I also tried another attempt using a similar guide and my old fat battery and got much the same results

So I formatted all and went to start again.
At the moment I am back to 3.52 m33 and I have not installed UPT, i have put buzz master on there in an iso folder and that works fine.

What is UPT used for...do i need it?
And reading various forums etc people are going to 3.71 and 5 I cant for my life seem to get mine to accept these programs/files and updates and i get a message something like game file could not be found (800xxxxx).

There is no reason to even make a Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick.

Go HERE and follow this guide. Start at the 3.52 M33-4 part of the guide (you will need to run MUX and select 3.52 M33-4 update before updating to 5.00 M33 custom firmware).

So all you really need to do is run MUX and select the 3.52 M33-4 update. Then go to Game/Memory Stick and run the 3.52 M33-4 update.

After you have updated to 3.52 M33-4 run MUX again and select the 5.00 M33 update. Go to Game/Memory Stick and run the 5.00 M33 update.

After you have finished installing 5.00 M33 you can use WiFi and the NETWORK UPDATE option in the XMB to update to the latest M33 custom firmware which is 5.00 M33-4.

If you don't have WiFi access for your PSP then all you need to do is go HERE and download the file. Extract the file and place the UPDATE folder included in the extracted file to the PSP/GAME folder directory then run the 5.00 M33-4 update via Game/Memory Stick.

After you have done all of this you can then format your Memory Stick. Then follow this guide HERE to get your ISO/CSO files working properly with the new custom firmware.

Sorted now, thanks for all your responses.
Basically it seems i could not update from 3.52 as upt deleted som prx files which are needed in the updates. So i used a newbee auto install 3.52 then updated to v4 then to 5...and all the games work aswell

thanks anyhow#

Happy Xmas

You have to have 3.52 M33-4 before updating to 5.00 M33 if your doing it manually.
