open tray error due to unplugged sata cable??

i flashed my friends 360 last night. it was a benq. everything seemed to of went ok. after i was all finished i booted it up into the dash board and it seemed all right. i did not try a game how ever.

well i got a call this morning from my friend saying he was getting the "open tray" message.

so my question is if i forgot to plug the sata cable back into the drive when i was done could that be the cause of the message? thanks in advance!

that was a known problem awhile ago, havnt seen ppl complain for quite sometime about it though, i dont think its your sata cable. try doing a search for open tray error.

it just happened after i flashed it.

in all of my haste of doing the job i may have forgotten to plug it back it so i was curious if that would cause it the error

if the sata isn't pluged in it will say that if you go to open tray eject it and nothing happens there is no cmd getting there or you were unlucky enough to have a bad firmware file

i'd put money on it that you didnt plug the cable back in. a guy had this same problem last week and thats what it was.
