Poor Quality picture on converted .flv files

Hi all,

I have recently collected together as many Christmas pop video files as possible off Youtube. The .flv files are then converted through WinAvi and merged as one feature-length file. Upon burning to Disc (using ConvertXtoDVD) The quality ranges from 'not bad' to 'poor'. The discs (which are the 'Emoticon' brand), are good discs as they produce perfect quality movies from other sources.

Is there any software that will boost the quality of this finished file before it goes to disc?
