Hey guys i'm currently at 3.3e and am using the backup loader to play my backups, i have an original copy of Disaster: Day of Crisis and when i put the disk in it is asking me to run an update.. If i run the update will it leave me unable to play backups as im hearing lots of negative things about version 3.4.. Dont wanna update if i can help it but do wanna play the game as my girlfriend bought it me for my birthday.

Any help always appreciated

I believe that disaster day of crisis had firmware 3.3. I dont know of any games that have 3.4 yet.

It will ask to update if its from a different region as your wii, in which case you would get duplicate channels but no other problems. Or if it contains the second 3.3 update, which blocked the installation of wads but I don't think it did anything to the backup loader. But worst case scenario would be you have to reinstall the custom IOS to get your loader working again.

An easier method to try would be just booting the disk through gecko OS and having it bypass the update.
