I herd this wasn't for hitachi drives...I have a v79 ....why isnt it for hitachi?

because the hitachi drives are always the last ones to get the new FW since everyone likes samsungs and benqs more. :)

The Hitachi update is coming. Just be patient. As long as you're using 1.4 and properly stealth checking your backups with ABGX360 you should be fine until it comes.

Why does it matter what "people" like? My xbox 360 elite came with a hitachi built into it from Microsoft. Why wouldn't that be a priority to patch?

It is Team Jungle's preference. If that is the way they like to code all the firmware, so be it. We shouldn't be hounding them for the firmware. Let them take their time and get it right the first time. We all should be so thankful for it is Team Jungle that provide us with the iXtreme firmware.
Maybe the ridiculous amount of firmware revisions plays a factor in the delay of Hitachi iXtreme 1.5 firmware?

i second that..be thankfull for the ability to flash at all. they do not get paid for doing all this you know it is like a hobby for them just like gaming

I'm not unthankful. I'm genuinely curious. Just want to understand development stuff. Is it normal to try and create firmwares for the standard microsoft dvd drives that come, or for third party oem ones that people put in?

u cant add a third part drive, none of the drives that come are made by MS all are made my third party for MS thats why they are referred to by brand such as benq samsung hitacho and liteon. and yes custom firmware has to be created in order to do the things we do. other than that there isnt much reason to make custom fw other than unlocking features not standard or making the drive do something it was originally designed for

Sorry, I wasn't directing that at you. It is just a bunch of people keep hounding Team Jungle for the firmware. lol.. anyways, the firmware that is created is specifically made from the original drives that Microsoft ships with the 360. 4 drive types as of right now: Hitachi, BenQ, Toshiba-Samsung, and the Lite-ON.
