okay.. i burned 4 games so far, 2 is okay the other 2 has coaster on it. i have been burning games for over a year now and i have never encountered burn failed errors before. I used the image burn, burned it at 4x speed and when it was up to 96%, that's when the burned failed error pops out. dont buy verbatim from newegg, dont get me wrong newegg is good but i was better off buying those 10 pack verbatims from my local store for higher price. i am beginning to have feelings that there may be some verbatim that are fake. no wonder it was so cheap on newegg plus free shipping.

i haven't modded my system yet, so i haven't tested my burned games yet but the burning process did finish. I think we can assume that we burned the games in the same way, the only thing i could find thats different is that i burned my games at 2.4x and not 4x. Also, i was using imgburn, dunno what u used but it's what everyone here suggested. Hope that helps.

i have never attempted to burn anything at higher speeds than 2.4x
john did u check to see if those discs were made in singapore or in india? i have heard ppl say the singapores are best and have less failure rate but i get mine at officemax and they only have singapores
singapore is indicated my "MIS" made in singapore just incase but im sure u know all this since u said u have been doing this for over a year or so.

i will try 2.4 speed and see how it goes.. i always burn my games at 4x for the past two years and never had an error until today.
and yes i do use imgburn, the one i am using it's from india i believe.
i know the slower the speed, the less chance it will get coaster and the better the quality.

The discs are rated 2.4x, you burned them at 4x, then you wonder why you ended up with coasters.

i burned them with 4x before and it worked fine.. the thing is that sometimse it works and it doesnt.

I've gotten my last 3 spindles from Newegg, the latest being last week, and haven't had any problems. Just out of curosity, when is the last time you updated your burners firmware?

I can say also I have not had one single problem.All my disk come from newegg also.Same disk you linked also,You have to burn at 2.4x Like already metioned.

last time i updated with a year ago if i recalled correctly.
what's wrong with burning it at 4x? i've always been burning it at 4x for the last two years and havnet had any problems until today. i dont mind burning it at 2.4 as long as it works and dont waste my dvd, i am happy with it. just that i have to wait 45 minutes, that's pretty long time.

I'm also one of the few who burn at 4x. A lot of people come in to the 360 scene either, from the PS2 camp, or getting advice from someone from the PS2 camp, where the golden rule was to burn as slow as possible. I was one of those guys in the beginning, but that changed quickly.
I've switched from 2.4x and have been burning at 4x for the past 2 years. To this date, I have not had one single coaster. I only use Verbs.

Those disk only can be burned at 2.4x tho.Don't get me wroung if I got to make a Special trip to Best Buy to get some verbatum's, then those Disk that are capable of going faster I do At 4x.

Take note John of the 2.4x if you look at the other Disk they will read up to 10x I believe.That is prob the only reason your shooting Blanks.

btw i checked my imaburn and it says it's up to the lastest version but why did i get coaster on my two disc. after i finished these 20 pack cake size dvd DL, i will probably go back to my local store and buy from them. their price is higher but never had a coaster even when burning it at 4x. I have been buying from them in the last two years. for now i will burn these at 2.4x to prevent getting coaster.
it hurts me when burning has failed because its a waste of dvd and these dvd arent cheap either.
