Hi =D
I am getting a xbox 360 and getting someone to do the firmware
My problems is with the backing up of "OWNED" games
i have a LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10A
And i dont no anything about the xbox internal gear (ie the drive and hardware)

1. Once you have ripped the iso to hdd do you need to add the ss.bin? what does it do? and is it needed?

2.DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL Which is the one you need?

3. Could you just rip the iso to hdd then burn it to a disk?

4. Is it Necessary to have a Kroen drive?

Thanks Kripcake

read the guides and tuts here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/662917

1. if u are ripping games urself from retail copies with a kreon drive then u dont need to worry about it. but if u get them from mr.internet then u need to use abgx to check them, it makes sure the ss(security sectors) and other things are matching up to the original copy.

2.DVD+R DL most success with verbatim brand

3. thats pretty much what a kreon drive is for.

4. if u want to rip the games urself then yes it is. there is a way of using the 360 to rip games from but that involves taking it apart each time u want to rip a game so u can hook it to the pc so it isnt very practical for most people. but if u arent going to rip urself and plan on aquiring over net then no kreon is not needed.
