US imported Laptop , UK DVD back up problem.

i've got a US imported laptop with a phillips dvd burner. i get the message

this video dvd doesn't match the region code of the dvd device and this unit refuses to read encrypted data. in that uncommon case,DVD for free can't help. To use it you must use this dvd in another dvd player.

when trying to copy a uk dvd via the software dvd43. any suggestions???

try DVD Decrypter it will use the force method and get around it anyways it does everytime for Me
BRUTE FORCE method its called no need to look for it it will apply it itself

ok heres the situation. I've got a 7.5 GB dvd (uk version). i couldn't get dvdxcopy to copy it but dvdcrypter together with dvdshrink allowed me to make a backup of the dvd on my hard drive. when i burned the dvd file onto a blank disc, using roxio and tried to play it on a stand alone sony dvd player, it couln't play the disc - "can't read/play disc". how to you get dvd files located on your hard drive to firstly burn and then play on standalone dvd players.

Hi ukdvd, When you cross dvd regions, its not only the region thats different. But in some cases you have the difference between PAL and NTSC video standards. I think this will be your biggest problem. There are programs to make disc region free (DVD Genie--DVD Region Killer both free), but you can't just change the video standard with out long involved conversion processes.
