Thanks Scouser

This is fantastic, just like the old firmware but with updating codes and doesn't wipe the xmas recordings on update of firmware....fantastic...

Thanks again.

The 4.55 will keep working for you (up to you if you want to update with the xmas eve one).
Yep, the SV2 has The B0x logo on the front.

I downloaded the new firmware : StarViewPVR-21122008.bin but it's the Oct 07 version. I think someone may have overwritten the new one with the old firmware by mistake. It is even the same file size as the oct 07 version. Can someone please upload the correct file again please?

It's not a mistake, just use that one, the library is kept nice and clean okay :-

Downloaded & installed the firware update 'starviewPVR-21122008.bin' for the Box PVR, upgraded from the last update 08122008.
The system info for this dates back to the October 2007 fix file & I get constant prompts for pin number when just changing channels.
Also channel text is all over the place even after a factory reset & re-scan.
Has anybody else had problems when using this latest fix ?.

Hi all, I had the ame problem as mjeffo. Flashed firmware for The Box PVR up from OCT 2008 4.5 version up to 3.105 version dated Dec 8th.
This resolved the issues with the scrambled channels. I did have some problems recording. Loved the option of up to 30 favourites & the other enhancements I got but noticed that if I recorded 2 things at the same time, sometimes the recording wouldn't stop when the second program completed & I'd end up with a recording maybe 9hrs long if it was a late movie or something. Anyway i could live with that.
When I saw the later firmware dated StarViewPVR-21122008.bin I decided to try it. Had the same problem as some of the other folks. I applied it over the Dec 8th version & found that I got my old background image back, but like some of the other people, the channel names were all truncated & it all looked a bit iffy !! I also had the problem of having to enter a code as I changed to some of the channels, but was able to fix that, as some of the channels were flagged as locked in the channel file. I simply marked them as unlocked & no more prompts for codes, when switching between channels.
Anyway I reverted back to Dec 8th version 3.105.
Should I have gone back to the Oct 2008 firmware, before applying StarViewPVR-21122008.bin or should I wait ??

Love the forum, a huge source of info !!

u need to extract the bin file to ur documents go into the fix folder right click on the bin file then extract to specific folder, extract it to my documents, then exit out and load up the gtrom loader again and you should see it when u hit bin file, double click on it and that should be you!!

Have you definately scanned on your correct cable supplier ? Have you definately got the live cable feed plugged into to Cable Input socket? when you have finished the Installation procedure, have you turned on the Key Emu? Main Menu, enter 1570 into Cas System Menu and turn it ON.
