How do I copy a double sided DVD into one?

I have an old copy of se7en and a Time to Kill on DVD. The DVDs are in an old DVD format, it has half the movie on one side (side A) and the other half on the backside (side B). Is there a way to combine both of the sides and burn it onto one DVDR, so I don't have to flip the disc half way through? If so how?

Either use DVDShrink in the re-Author mode or use DVD2One in the "join" mode.
In either case you'll need to rip the movie (both sides of it) to your HD. DVDShrink will rip it for you but you'll need Decrypter to do it for DVD2One. In both cases you'll need a burning program like Nero or RecordNow Max to burn it to disc :-)
No problem for either one - DVD2One is simpler to use but it costs $$$$, while DVDShrink is, how should I put this to you so that it will be easy for you to understand, Huuummmm, I guess it's better just to come right out and let you have it - - OK, here it is, - - DVDShrink is absolutely without a cost of any kind, in other words, it's FREE !

I haven't worked with DVDShrink in re-author mode. I'm gonna play around with it and see if Ican figure it out. Thanks for the help :)

Does that process work the same for adding extras to a movie only disc? such as 8 Crazy Nights being a 2 disc dvd: one having the movie etc the 2nd disc being the extras.. Kinda irrating to have to switch dvds to view the extras. wouldnt I have to reauthor / rebuild the menu to be able to select the extras since the original menu of disc one didnt have Extras listed as an option in the first place.

Rip each disc to its on seperate folder.Browse each folder,using the dvd browser tab,in the reauthor mode.Then you can choose what you want by draggin and dropping it into the left side under where it say new dvd.Your menu doesnt work in the reauthor mode.Im kinda new to all this,so im not sure if your on disc games and interactive stuff will work.

Guys,
If you think you'll be doing a lot of that (I like to put 2 or 3 movies on a single DVD) May I suggest you check out DVD2One - very fast, good compression and EXTREMELY easy - it's about $40.00 -

I personally dont like DVDShrink, too much work to decode/deregion the dvd itself.. CloneDVD and AnyDVD combo does the job quite well and fast. anyway.. I ripped both discs to their own folders using CloneDVD's copy dvd titles option.. I was wondering what process and program to use to merge the extras into the first disc as well as add a button to the menu of the main disc (disc 1)to select the extras. all this provided the combined main disc + the extras dont go over 4.7 gigs anyway.. any suggestions?

SadJoker, Going from the last to the first -
You need to get your size to 4.36GB NOT 4.7GB. A DVD will hold 4700mb but that is not 4.7GB that is 4.38GB because 1GB is not 1000MB it is actually 1024MB. We prefer to calculate the available writing space on a DVD as 4.36GB to include the reverse math and also provide a bit of room for overhead.
I can respect your opinion, But I see no problem with letting DVD Shrink decode/de-region (sp) my DVD's - I don't break a sweat while it's at work :) and although I'm a bit older now than many of those on the forum, money still means a lot to me - the fact remains, DVD Shrink is still FREE ! ! ! :D)
Since I purchased Nero 6 to be my burning program, I found out, quite by accident mind you, that there's a program called Recode 2 - Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it's ability to keep menus and stuff made it a nice (pre-paid) program to rival CloneDVD. If others on the forum don't wish to take their significant other out for a nice dinner, they can always spend the $80. to $100. for the 2 programs you mentioned - On the other hand, maybe not :-)
