This is just copy and paste :
I mean, when I go to bed, I put my PS3 to a horizontal position but once I'm awake and start playing my PS3, I put it to a vertical position.
Will this damage the hardware in any way, by frequently changing the position? Thanks.
I did search but all I found was 'PS3 in Horizontal or Vertical?'

I'm not saying it'll brake it but it won't do it any good.

You mean...?
It's not good for the PS3?
OR
That there's no point? Because I'm sure that putting my PS3 vertically will allow it to ventilate better (after COD4 crashed on me, I panicked and thought of doing this)
I must keep it horizontally when I go to bed though.
Should I just keep it horizontally then..?

It shouldnt make a difference unless you're literally moving it while its on frequently.

It wont do a thing. Sure those thermal photos show that having the ps3 in a horizontal position makes it run cooler, but the ps3 is designed to run either horizontally or vertically.
As long as teh ps3 isnt stuck in the back of a media centre box like that guy did causing it to burn up due to the build up of dust, theres nothing to worry about. Just make sure theres good ventilation around it and it'll be fine.
However shaking it violently while its on, im sure all will agree thats not good for it.
