hi folks..anyone out there can help me,have been away for a while been back 5days now,been reading whats been goin on with boxes.Have the box super api ver:7.05e-E boot ver:8.0 10.apr.2008..was worken great for 4mnths until everything got scrambled.It is a genuine box,just don,t know what i would need to update..and how to update,sorry not to hot on computers but always willing to learn..just took me 3 days to set up my belkan wireless router nightmare ha.ha..any help would be appreciated,thanks smart71...

Thanks celtic,goin to maplins tommorow,need the 2 cables to connect to laptop,unsure what usb to serial cable to get,is it usb to serial 9inch male adaptor.code ZP43W,cost £19.99 or usb to serial adaptor RS232 DB9 male to usb female extension cable.code A86AN,cost £24.99...?? Look forward to your reply,until the next question, THANKS....

hi i gettin problems too i have tried everything in the how 2 linkj.. i load gtrom 8.04e found in the emoas library. Then i connect to the correct port. then wait till bout 5% the either get flash failed or error. i have a null modem usb lead and have installed the correct drivers (which came on disc) i have tried all my usb ports while changing the port on gtrom loader but to no avail

I take it the operating system you are using is Vista.

yes vista home premium . i read some where else that i should try a friends pc cause they have old pc so i could try using there cable slot

when u say standby its when the time is displayed on front? then when it updates i notice the numbers count up 1 2 3 etc but only get to 5 b4 error etc...

Thats my advice mate, i tried for about 2 months and various forums to get a box flashed using Vista and the usb cable and it just did'nt work i ended up buying an old £60 laptop of fleabay that had the null modem connection on the back then put XP on it and never had a problem since.

UPDATED using m8s comp but when i goto sky sports 1 it just keeps updating 300% to no avail any ideas

Have you got the EMU turned on, menu, press 1570 on the remote and check its turned on if it is press OK to set the default key, exit out and see what happens.

lol i didnt think i would have to press ok on set default key but just turn emu on only lol all is working. Thanxs for the help u lot much appreciated

Thanks very much...got cables today £30 well spent,have just got my starview 3 box super worken..followed all instructions worked first go...live on the wirral and loaded the 8.02e version,worked first go...thanks again folks......
