1.9s update - error message

I tried to update the wiikey to 1.9s but i get an error message from the disc. It can't read it. Some error while reading it. Since it's only 7mb in size, i burnt it to a CD. And then burnt again into another CD and it was the same thing. Was is it wrong using a CD instead of a DVD?

It still plays gamecube games and other wii games but it doesn't play SMG or WIIFIT. With FIT i get a black screen as it is booting: "An error has occurred. Press the eject button...".

Can anyone please help me out with the update. I had a similar problem updating to 1.9g but since they are cumulative i think if i get the 1.9s rolling, SMG will necessarily roll, too.

I am not the best source, but I just did mine.

It does need to be on a DVD either +r/-r. I used magic disc to burn it. Which is what I use to make backups as it works good, fast and easy.

Burn it a slower speed like 4x 0r 2x.

I had a problem with Smash Bros Brawl until I put on 1.9s and updated the wii to 3.2j.

Try Burn your disc in 2x.I am using nero8 to burn at 2x.I have no problem with the disc that I burned.As for SMBB i burned in dual-layer disc.I think the firmware need to be 3.2j above & wiikey 1.9s to play the game.

how can i check my version? JUST CHECKED. 3.0 E (that's not good...)

is there way to do it without wiiconnect24?

how do you go online with a wii? internet cable?

Yes, it was. The wii cannot read CDs. You need to use a DVD, and you should use filechop to pad the 7mb update to 1.4 gigs. Burining such a small file is bad for the wii's drive.

And it is not necessary to run the 1.9g update, just the 1.9s will be fine.

You cant play most of the first party games on a wiikey modded wii without at least 1.9g. If you're still having problems after updating then try reburning the games at 2 or 4x on verbatum DVD-R.

The wii can be updated via internet connection or from a game. Mario kart contains the 3.2 update if you want to update to a slightly newer firmware.

And you can get the wii online with almost any standard wireless router. Just go into the connection settings and set it up.

I'm golden!

I rolled wiifit (original) and updated to 3.1E.

Then i burnt 1.9s with imgburn. I followed the chop steps but the image size remained the same. But since the size of the update was about 39mb i burnt it anyway.

It worked! SMG backup works! Although i'm gonna buy the original, new.

Gotta support the industry. I'm through with piracy. I'm just gonna use to play games i wouldn't otherwise be able to play. I wouldn't even update if i knew the future original wii games would work without it.
