I'm having problems connecting my xbox 360 to my pc, i've followed all the guides on this site but still getting stuck at one point.
My xbox is detecting the wireless network on the dashboard but after i've entered my wep key and run 'test media' it's showing as not connected. I've tried it a few times and getting a bit frustrated entering the wep key to be honest, anyone know where i'm going wrong please?
after running the test and failing, have you red the "more information" tab? Does it say something about DHCP?! ... my guess is that your network settings do not have the DHCP enabled.
You'll have to log-in into your router settings. If you do not know how to do it, you will have to call your ISP tech support. They should walk you thru.
Thanks for the reply....yeah i've checked and DHCP is enabled, the xbox wireless adapter is picking up my wireless network(4 green bars), when i enter the wpa/wep keys and run media test it's failing to connect. In the 'more info' section it says the adapter is unable to connect?
I've been to microsoft website but couldn't find anything in their troubleshooting section.
Any ideas?
Ok i reset my router(orange livebox) and i've managed to connect to the wireless network via my xbox, i'm now getting a 'fail' notice when trying to connect to my pc in the test media section.
In Windows Media Player 11 i've gone into settings and allowed xbox to share with my pc, i've also got tversity running on my pc but the xbox is not hooking up with my pc?
I also turned windows firewall off but that didn't help.
Well i messed around a bit longer and hey presto i finally got it connected to my pc, don't know what i did to be honest but it's working :-)
I had a problem playing divx files but i updated from xbox live and that sorted that problem. I have however got a hi def .mkv file that will not play, maybe tversity doesn't support these file types which is a pity as i wanted to try some hi def streaming :-)
Anyone know which if any hi def files the xbox/tversity supports?
