how does that towel trick work to fix rrod?

my best guess is that the xbox heats up so much, and then when you take the towels off it begins to cool down to the temperature that caused it to over-heat and RROD on you

considering it was way hotter it now adjusts and thinks that this previous temperature that would overheat is "normal" for it to operate in

does that make any sense?

it will either give you RROD or it will soften the solder points possibly creating a better connection, but generally towel trick is used to give yourself RROD for getting a repaired console when out of regular warranty.

I've never done it, as i'm already on my 4th console due to RROD so my 3yrs is no where near up, but i've heard of people doing this, otherwise there are several tips out there to fix ur 360 but those will obviously void any warranty and the possible chance of M$ fixing it.
