I recently got my 360 flashed, it had a hitachi drive so i asked to replace it with one of the other two, the person did it, replaced it with a samsung drive. Anyways, now when i'm playing my burned games, the disk drive makes strange noises, like the cd is stuck in one place and can't turn but something is trying to force it to turn (atleast thats what it sounds like to me, if you uderstand what i am saying). Anyways, do you know anything about that?

It's an xbox360 halo edition.

time like this, u need to be rude.. if u keep being polite he is going to treat u like a crap. u gonna let that guy stand on top of you? just say that the drive u replaced isn't, my friend has a samsung and it's mad quiet. use apology or examples to support your statement.

alright, He said that samsung drives sometimes make that sound because of hardware and stuff since my 360 wasn't originally suppose to use it. But i asked him to replace it because i just didn't feel comfortable having something that made that noise, he said that he couldn't replace it now because he doesn't have any spare drives at home, so he said that in about a week, he will be gettin a few more in so i should probably call then. Hopefully its not bull. Thx for the help guys.

where is your original drive at? and not to sound on his side. my old ms-25 drive did make some grinding noises as it 'aged'.

It's ok if u are on his side, in fact, if it is right and it's suppose to make noise then i would feel a lot better. Anyways, he took my original hitachi drive, the drive he gave me is a samsung but i suspect that it's at least 5-6 months old.

samsung should not be making grinding sound at all. i used to have samsung drive that had the grinding sound.. i bought a replacement one on ebay and replaced it myself. after it, the sound was gone. i also has to do with the lasor inside the drive.

ok, i guess i will just have to wait the week until he gets a new drive then replace it, hopefully he won't think of charging me, i hate being in awkward situations but i'm not paying for a new drive since the one he gave me is defected. All of my questions have been answered, thx guys.
