help needed modding psp 2001 with official 3.6fw

i recently got a friends psp 2001 and it has in it currently teh official 3.6fw. he purchased it mid 2007 last year i think. anyway recheckin some stuff before moddin it..

first.. this can be modded usin a pandoras battery + MMS correct ? and if so i use this guide rite

when i mod the slim wat fw will be on it in teh beginin and when im updatin teh slim do i have to have any kernel in it as well ?

i have a fat psp with 5.00 m33-4 so i can create the pandoras battery and mms frm thr. in teh guide only 5.00m33 - 3 is listed.. any problem if i use 5.00m33-4 to create the battery and mms ?

edit: bump and 1 more thing i been readin on other forums tht i have to downgrade the psp slim to fw 3.5 to mod it ? is it true ? can any1 confirm it? or are my steps mentioned above will do ?

Please read and use the first guide you linked to - that's all you need. You do not need to downgrade the psp first.
