Updating ixtreme 1.5

I am considering updating to ixtreme version 1.5 from version 1.4. I intend to follow the tutorial on the team-xecuter website: http://team-xecuter.com/blaster360/hitachi.htm

The problem is that the website says I should restore the ODD in step 9. However, I don't have the same HDD in my computer as I did when I first flashed the 360. Do I really need to restore, or can I go ahead and just flash without the restore?

1.5 doesn't exist for hitachi drives yet.
The rumor is that it will be out sometime in January.

yeah, you're going to have to wait for it for about a month. So read up on it though, like you're doing. However, I would do exactly what the guide says

Thanks. But there is still a problem, I don't have the original firmware that I have to use to restore the ODD. Is there any way to recover it somehow or download it and restore it. Even though I can't update yet, I would like to be prepared to do so in the near future.
