Can't obtain ip-adress. rly need help.

Okay. so here's the thing. I use an ethernal cable to my xbox 360 , and when i'm gonna connect to xbox live , it says that it cant connect to internet. So i test the connection, but i can't obtain an ip-adress. So i went and rebooted my comp , and then it worked. I had a lot of fun playing and turned my xbox of when i was done. A few hours later, i wanted to play again. And it said the same thing. So i rebooted my comp , and it worked. But i don't want to reboot my comp everytime i want to play online. I've tried to manually insert the ip-adress, gateway and that other thingy. But it doesn't work. Does anyone have a tip of what can help ?

Is your firewall on? Check any other security settings. If I were you I would call 18004MYXBOX. It may take a long time to actually get the Microsoft operators to diagnose and prescribe an answer to your problems but its worth it. Hope this helps.

sounds like its a network ip clash. your computer is using the ip address that your xbox is trying to assign to itself. set your computer to automatically obtain the ip address by going to start and then click control panel then go to network connections and right click on your network connection and click properties you will see a small scroll box that says this connection uses the following items, scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties then click obtain ip address automatically. reboot your pc and your router and try to connect to everything.
