Hey So i was messing around with the R707 Solder points and my drive seems to have broke it wont eject when I press eject, the LED Just flashes green. This was in attempt to get my drive key, which i was going about all the wrong way.

My question is what could i do? Can i replace the board on the drive from another lite-on drive or is that where the key is stored?

And or can i just buy a new Lite-on drive and replace it? Spoof it Maybe? I dunno ? Probably not because I dont have that drive key im guessing.

If you lost the drive key then you're basically SOL. Without a matching key your Xbox 360 motherboard won't function with just any drive.

You should still be able to get the key from your drive? if you have pushed the drive cable in the wrong way this can burn and damage the drive.

did you bother reading anything the OP said in his post?? i highly doubt it based on your stupid comment. and if you did read it, perhaps you should re-read it and see whats going on. no-where in his post did he mention anything about putting a cable in the wrong way.

well i am not sure how the soldering process, and i wouldnt listen to much of what i say because i havnt even touched a lit-on. but if it was me, and i didnt get an answer, I would try to de-soler,clean up, get the extractor tool they are selling, and i would bet that you could at least get the key. just a theory though.

Well actually that is my plan.(Not to de-solder which i did not try, I was using the paper clip probe but not touching the r707 hole. I was touching the solder points guessing what to do, thanks to my incompitant tutorial) And my main problem in the first place, Not having the correct tools . Dont be cheap get the probe and the connectivity kit and it is easy as cake. I tend to learn the hard way every time but thats life now isnt it?

Honestly the paper clip way is prob. super easy with the right Tut.

So you think i will still be able to get my key even if my eject function is ruined? I dont think it even reads discs when i manually open it and put it in it just flashes Green on the LEd.

Thanks For the ideas B
