Since i got the latest update with the Mario Galaxy, and all games from that and on, will give me the black screen with "unaothorized deviced has been detected" error message.
I have since tried everything, from flashing with 1.9b, all the way to 1.9s, the flash operation goes well, but i have to take the dvd in and out when it says stopping drive, otherwise i will get failed to flash. So if i do take the dvd in and out, while flashing , the flash would continue all the way and i would hear hoomer and all, as well as the latest update 1.9s.
But the chip does not really flash, at least that's what i think, since mario galaxy and all new games to follow, still give the black screen with the "unauthorized device has been detected" message.
I have included a picture of my chip and the wiring, which i have double checked about 5 times already for none connectivity. All wires are fine, and all games perior to Mario galaxy work fine.
Well I'm not an expert with mod chips but I had this problem before. My Wii would not play Mario Galaxy or some other new games. The update firmware to my wiikey would not work because it was a clone wiikey. Yours might be too if it doesn't take the update.
Your Modchip is working properly since your getting the "unauthorized device has been detected".
So the issue is either your update isn't updating properly on the Wiikey or as proximo68 has suggested you have a clone that will not install the Wiikey update.
If you can not figure this out or until you figure it out you can install the Homebrew Channel and use Gecko OS to boot the game disc past the error.
Most probably i do have a clone, even though it looks 100% like the original, but all wires are correct, and still it won't update, so it has to be an identical clone, me wii is setting at 3.1u, i have the homebrew channel and i have geoco on it, but not sure how to use it to boot the games that require the wiikey update ,,, please help
Thank you so much, it works just fine, i must have been away from the wii scene for a long time to not know there was a homebrew app that let you do that... i gave up on my wii playing new games since the mario galaxy and just today my kids were able to play it ,,, among some other new games that i just got them....
