This isnt for streaming video, this is for streaming wii games like twilight princess and brawl from your computer. No disc needed

Anyone know or have an idea if the flatmii will be able to handle N64, SNES, or NEW roms?

Did I? lol
Well apparently it just emulates a DVD drive, so, it couldn't effect anykind of softmod at all.
They say its in stock and shipping.
If anyone gets one, let us know how it goes!

So penguinmu since you are saying that it can't affect a softmod then you are saying that you can play N64, Snes and nes? Right?

If you intend to use the flatmii to play roms, then no. That wont work. Its a drive replacement. Meaning that it does exactly what the wii's DVD drive does.
If you want to play roms you'd have to use emulators through the homebrew channel. Which is completely independent of the drive.

One of the features listed is an update blocker. Why is this needed for a drive replacement device and what purpose would it serve?

Is there a chance this somehow could brick your wii, do you think?

Perhaps for the same reason we see update blockers in modchips, which as you may know ATTACH TO WII DRIVES. Its just giving the same functionality that a modchipped wii drive would have.
