Happy New YEAR Everyone !!

Before i do anything i need help

i have a 17" GE television for playing ps2 games and i have had this television for about 5 years now (we bought a used television at that time) and since i bought this television i keep on having trouble with the audio when i plug in a dvd/ps2 (anything with the three input wires (red, white, and yellow)). There are only two inputs (white and yellow) and i have both of them at the front and at the back. I usually play ps2 games on that tv so the video is excellent and i have no comment on that but the audio would be fine at the start but then after i press/move anything on my ps2 controller the sound would fade out in a minute but if i dont touch my controller the sound would fade out in like 2-3 minutes , the way i get the sound back is by changing the channel up/down twice but the problem re-occurs every time and i get really annoyed by changing the channel every time and pause my game/movie every time i want the sound.

I opened the back cover of the tv and cleaned it (i didnt clean it that good tho, but there isnt any dust any more) but the problem still occurs.

If anyone knows how to fix this i would be really great full if they helped me.

Do i have to buy a new television?
