Ok,this is my current setup:

Wii with version 3.4 (honestly not sure how or when it upgraded)
Installed D2Pro9 V3 mod chip

I have several backed up titles that work without an issue with this setup. I have downloaded and burnt the scrubbed version of Animal Crossing and it shows in the CD Channel on the Wii but when you start it, the screen is black.

I do not have Homebrew channel but from what I could see I need to be on an earlier Wii version (3.2) for Homebrew and wad-manager to work.

I am pretty capable of following directions (even if I don't really understand what I am doing :*0 )

What can I do in order to get Animal Crossing to work?

Thanks for your help and Happy New Year!

I had your problem too. Sorry I don't remember the name of the wad but you have to install a system update wad through wad manager and it will get passed the black screen. Search around for it.
Or you can run animal crossing through gecko os and it plays fine with out the wad.

You need to install the update that came with Animal Crossing or download IOS38-64-v3609.WAD and install it via Wad Manger. The WAD file is for Wii Speak hardware.

A simple animal crossing search in the forum would have answered this question for you.

Wow, well thank you for the sarcasim larrylje! That is just what I was looking for. Actually, now that you brought it up, I did do exactly that long before I made my post.

Unfortunately, ALL of the solutions included some things that I did not fully understand, even after searching and readin here as well as at the Homebrew site.

Things were just not as clear as I needed to feel comfortable, such as some of the homebrew installs needing earlier versions of the Wii firmware than what I have.

I do hope that your replys to everyone are not as negative as they will push people away from, what otherwise I have found to be a very helpful place.

Blah Blah Blah

I did a search myself and came up with multiple threads that answer your question. So you evidently didn't search that good.

As well if the Mod Scene lingo is to much for you and you don't understand things you read then maybe you need to take some time and read past threads and stickied threads to get a better knowledge of the Wii homebrew scene.

Larry You are my hero! I wish I were just like you. You are a god and I am simply a peon. Blah blah blah. Just deal with the fact that the several articles that I found were not as clear to me as they are to you, an obviously seasoned professional arse.

Again, good luck to you out there, you'll need it more than I.

I think you will find larry gives very good advice, stays within the rules of the forum and (this is the amazing bit) will give you the right advice even when the answers are already out there. I can see both sides of the arguement, it is tough when you dont understand some of the things that the guides tell you to do, the only sollution is to keep reading! It is also annoying to see someone post a question who has made no attempt to search first.

If the articles you read where not clear enough then why not post in them instead of starting a new thread. All we will do is repeat what we said in the other threads and you would still be lost (I still think it was lack of searching instead of lack of understanding).

I do know allot in the Wii Mod Scene but I took the time to search and read up on applications and files used in the scene. That way I would have a better understanding on threads when going through the learning processes. I didn't have anyone fast track me from point a to point b. So you shouldn't expect anyone to do it either.

It still amazes me how much of a hissy fit new members have when you suggest searching for the answer's before starting a new thread. I could have just reported the thread to a MOD and ask them close it since it has been covered. Then you wouldn't have received a reply at all. Instead I answered your question but suggested to search next time and that still wasn't good enough for you.
