Ok, I've got a bunch of MP3s and a couple DIVX movies on an 8gb USB drive. They all play fine on my Pioneer DVD player (which has usb port). But, when I plug the memory stick drive into my PS3, it shows UP as being there under Audio/Video menus - says (USB DataTraveller) right there, but when I go down and select it, it says "no files".

????

What do I need to do to get my PS3 to be able to read mp3 and divx .avi files off my USB stick?

If you press Triangle and click on "Show all files" or some such thing, you should be able to detect the files.

Alternately, you can create a folder in the root of your jump drive labeled "PS3," and then "MUSIC" and "VIDEO" (and "PICTURE" if you have images) inside the PS3 folder. People say that you should do that, but personally, it still doesn't work for me. I still have to press Triangle and "Show all" and stuff.

Anyway, try that.

WORKS!! THank you!! I just brought up the triangle menu -> display all, and there's all my files. I guess the PS3 doesn't by default see .mp3 extensions as audio and .avi extensions as video files so it just didn't list them.

Excellent, thanks again!
