I have the Asus DRW-2014 L1T, SATA burner and it works flawlessly. Some have had problems with extra long SATA cables when flashing but I use a 2 footer and no problems yet. Are you planning on making your own back-ups? A Kreon drive is the easiest way to go. Usually they are around $50 I think. You can find them online quite easily. ---Chikn
P.S. I should add that Imgburn does not play nice with the newest nVidia nForce drivers for SATA drives. I was getting voltage fault errors and not able to finalize the disc. This is a problem with nVidia drivers, 15.xx, not Asus or ImgBurn. The problem is fixed by plugging into one of the non nVidia SATA ports, usually jmicron or even the Via card itself. ---Chikn

I went with the ck3 kit instead http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?...&cat=284&page=1 It got here today. I am going to fire up my old pc on sunday to try it out. It has xp sp3 instaleed and no dvd/cd drives. Should be perfect for modding the 360. While I have my 360 opened is it a good idea to replace the compond on the gpu and cpu with some artic silver 5 thermal compound? I have an extra tube of it and read about using it on the 360. Has anyone else done this does it really do anything or is it a waste of time?

if its a newer 360 i would say no since it will have the smaller chip size(produces less heat) than the older models. but if its an older one it might be worth it. i did it to mine after i updated to NXE and coincidently got artifacts all over my screen while simply at the dashboard and not even playing a game. after i did the replacement of the clamps with screws washers and replaced the thermal compound the artifacts went away and it has been gold ever since.
But if u do this then make really sure to clean all the old thermal compund off first. i mean to a mirror shine. any left over paste will defeat the purpose of the new paste.
so..
if u have the knowledge to do it then go ahead, but getting the xclamps on and off can be a real pain, if u are going to go thru all that i would go ahead and remove the clamps and replace with regular m5 screws and use some nylon and metal washers. there are several guides on the exact process and placement on washers...etc... but it is easy to hit the board while removing the xclamps and potentially break something off.

I started to mod my drive today. My pc froze up while I was erasing the original fw. I was able to back up my original read but now the drive is not responding. I have read that I need dosflash16 and L-O-Eras.exe. Can anyone tell me where to find them and how to use them? Thanks for all of the help that everyone has provided.

That's good to know. Now If I can just get my dvd drive unlocked and try that out I will be happy.

What you will need to do is download DosFlash 1.7 beta(google for it). There will be a folder named "DosFlash", that is DosFlash16. It contains 2 files (DosFlash.exe and DosFlash.typ) Put those files on a bootable jump drive. Next you can get L-O-Eras.exe from the iXtreme 1.5 firmware where you downloaded it from. Put L-O-Eras.exe also onto that jump drive along with the iXtreme 1.5 Lite-ON firmware you spoofed with your key, inquiry, and identify. First boot to the jumpdrive and then type L-O-Erase.exe, it should return some weird status and try til you get 0x72. Once you have 0x72 type dosflash.exe, it will return all your sata ports and you should see 1 port that will list MX25L2005 or something like that, also might have PLDS in it, that is your Lite-ON drive. Choose the corresponding number and then it will ask you if you want to read, erase, or write. Just go ahead and choose write, it will prompt you for your firmware. Type the name of the firmware like Lite_CFW.bin is what jungle flasher prompts you to save as, but just type in the name you named it as. Make sure to include that .bin and go ahead and hit enter. It will start to erase, then write, and then you will be enjoying your backed up games. I hope this helps. Good luck!
