I have a seagate external hdd 320gb. I want to play my music off of it on my 360 but says it has to be in fat32 for 360 to recognize it.

I read to use partition magic since the ext hdd is bigger than 32gb. my question is, can i partition just part of the drive(50gb) in fat32 and the rest in ntfs as i need it for my files lareger than 4gb which fat32 cant do.

I dont want to partition the entire ext because then i would not have my larger files on there...if this isnt possible, any other suggestions besides buying another hdd.

I have a 1TB USB HDD and I formatted it with Macdrive 7 to the HSF+ file system and the 360 picks everything up. As long as you install MacDrive7 on your computer, it'll work just fine on your PC too.

ok i saw macdrive and i guess im confused but i have a pc not a mac. from my understanding i can only format in hsf+ if i have a mac right? if that is the case, i guess i could just use a friends mac to format correct?

Macdrive is a Windows application that will allow you to format your HDD in HSF+ file system that has support for files larger than 4 gigs.

The X360 can read HSF+ FS.

Macdrive will also allow you to read/write to the HSF+ file system from within the Windows OS.

Your best bet is to transfer everything off <BACKUP> then format, then put everything back on it.
