I am wanting to build my own computer from scratch for the first time.I know I need to get:
1.Case
2.motherboard
3.CPU
4.RAM
5.Video card
6.Hard Drive
7.Power Supply
8.Dvd Reader-Writer
9.Mouse and Keyboard
But my question is once I order everything does it come with a manual to tell you step by step how to put everything together.Is there an order you have to put everything together.Can you find a how to on the net on putting it together.It does not seem to me, you can just put all this stuff in and it will just take off,am I right.Im looking for help with assembly if anyone can help.

There are a few other things that you should include in your build.
1) Antec Silver Formula 5
Scrape off the current heat sink paste on the CPU cooler fan and apply this instead.
2) Heat sink fan for CPU (some processors come with them.)
3) You may not need video card if the motherboard has built in video, but I would recommend a nice card.
3) Tools!! Very important! I would also recommend an antistatic wrist strap for someone building their first unit. Link
4) I would also like to suggest one internal and one external fan for air flow. You need to keep the system cool.
This tutorial is old, and you may have SATA drives instead of IDE drives. However, it will give you the basics. Make sure that when you buy the tools, or case for the motherboard that you have screw backs to go into the case for the motherboard to be mounted to. Tutorial Link

I am thinking about going with sata drives(Hard drive and dvd drive)will all the cables I need come with everything I order.Thanks for the reply and information it was a big help.

Every drive I have ever ordered comes with connections except CD/DVD drives. However, when you purchase the motherboard it will come with all the cables you need. Let me know what processor you are planning on getting and I will help you select a nice motherboard for it.
What is your price range?

I was wanting to put about $800.00 to $900.00 in it not counting the monitor.I was thinking about maybe putting together something like kenny536 has put together on his thread.I dont really know whats good are not.Do you think that is a good set up would you change anything.There will be some gaming on this computer but will mostly be playing movies,music.I do want it to be fast.

I would say that to be fast it will cost you a little more than 900.00 bucks to do it. Let me know the processor and give me a link to kenny536 so that I can see his specs. I would expect that you will spend closer to 1200 maybe 1500 unless I can help you find good deals.
When are you going to be ready to purchase?

I was looking into purchasing within the next few weeks.I want to to learn as much as I can before I get started.I have a little knowledge because I have installed new hard drives,Dvd drives,added memory,but never anything like this.I have also taken apart xbox 360s to fix the red rings of death.Doing the xbox clamp fix,cleaning off the cpu/gpu chips and heatsinks and adding new paste.I priced everything listed above at newegg that is listed above minus heatsinks and fans and it came up to $700.00 .How do you know what kind of heatsink and fan to get are they all compatible

Okay, let's start from the beginning.
I would suggest this over LG LiteOn Link
Case, the Antec is nice, but maybe the coolmaster Link
Processor (this is optional, but I know this processor is a nice one) Link
Motherboard (Gigabyte is an excellent suggestion but you need to look at a few more variables) Here is an Asus Link
PSU (I would suggest at least a 650w PSU, however a 750w would be better. You need to remember that the video card may also need power. I do not like the Video Card you selected, so I will search for a better one.) Here is a link to a 650w Link
Let me know what you like and you don't like. We can get this system built and maybe even stay in an area pretty close to your price range.
Edit: The memory and the video come later. First we need to decide on the motherboard and CPU.
You will need a CPU fan for the CPU most likely if you order from newegg.com. But that is cool, we will get it and the cost will be little.

I want to keep the case I chose,but everything else you picked I like and will change.I have also changed the power supply to this:

The card reader I guess is fine. I don't really know because I have never purchased one. As far as the PSU goes, it looks like you are still selecting a 400w. Select the item that you are selecting and then give me the link so that I don't have to guess. If you do that then the link will look like my links with the exact item you are selecting.

That case is awesome and I never knew a processor could cost that much.You right that is way out of my league maybe later on,WAY down the road.Did you find a video card that would work great with that motherboard.This is the power supply I chose.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006.The 750tx-750 watt.I could not get it to link to just that one .It keeps bringing them all up.I did choose the corsair 750.

I'll look at graphics cards and see what I think would be a nice one for gaming. At first I was thinking a GeForce 9600 GSO, but I would like to double check with a friend of mine who is really into graphics cards.
I like the Corsair 750. Good choice!

OC'ing is not something that you have to do. It is something that most chose to do. The Asus motherboard is indeed a nice board to OC with. I would suggest quick memory as well. To OC you will need to increase the speed of the FSB. There are safe ways to do this, and there are dangerous ways of doing it.

Edit: By the way, my friend still hasn't replied to my message I sent him. I may have to ask another friend to see if he has a good idea of what GPU would be best for gaming. I'm also going to ask if the motherboard and processor are a nice selection for keeping you within your budget.
