no, it requires you to buy the drive, and the enclosure and put the drive in the enclosure.

Please spare the sarcasm. This sort of thing may be simple for you but I am quite new to it. Anyhow, is it as simple as you make it sound and will any enclosure work?

For someone so sure that this was easy, he didn't mention that most external enclosures are for HDDs and not DVD-ROMs. Make sure you get a 5.25" external enclosure. A quick google search for DVD Drive External Enclosures gave me some stuff from meritline and wherever else you wanna buy from.
Then get your Kreon.
Once they are both in the enclosure will have instructions on how to disassemble and re-assemble. Make sure the enclosure you get and the drive you get are both SATA or IDE. The product descriptions will tell you what they are.
Make sure your interface has USB 2.0 along with whatever else you want/need. 1.1 won't cut it (and if anyone is selling USB 1.1 enclosures, they should be shot).
Other than that, it's pretty simple. You pull apart the enclosure, put the drive in (only one way it can go, pretty simple), put the enclosure back together, plug it in, and you're good to go.
You MUST burn on the slowest speed available. Anything faster and you may run into buffering problems due to slow transfers.

An excellent response, thank you! This will suffice, correct?

Thought you were done with the thread anyway. And not everyone knows everything you do about computers and consoles. Like I said, most enclosures are HDD enclosures. It's unlikely people new to enclosures, as the OP admitted, would realize that there were multiple types until it was too late and have to go through the hassle of returns, etc.
@OP: Yes, that'll do. Make sure your Kreon drive is an IDE as well.

There is one more question I didn't clarify. How will I connect the external drive to my notebook? IDE, e/SATA, USB?

If you have an e/SATA connection on your laptop, use that. Otherwise, you'll have to use USB.

I've got a question, my IDE kreon drive connects to my laptop through USB ok, but does it matter if my laptop is SATA interface.
