Hello, I have a Hitachi GDR-3120L v0046DG and I was wondering how to spoof it as a samsung with iXtreme. In other words, I want to know how to replace my flashed Hitachi with a samsung and flash the samsung. Can I spoof the drive and flash it at the same time or do I have to do it seperately.
If someone has directions please make them easy step by step instructions. Of if anyone has a link to a tutorial on how to do this I would be very thankful.

Just open up the iXtreme firmware in Firmware Toolbox 4.8, apply your key if you haven't already, go to tools and click spoof firmware. A list of drives will be displayed and choose either the 25 or 28, what ever one you have. Since you have a Hitachi, you probably should restore to original Hitachi firmware before flashing iXtreme to it. Once you have applied the spoof, it will show *** FIRMWARE SPOOFED AS Samsung-TSH943A-ms25/28*** right below the firmware file in Firmware Toolbox. Hope that helps.

EDIT: Sorry I misread your question. If you are wanting to replace your Hitachi with a Samsung. You will need to spoof the Samsung firmware as a Hitachi 46. Those steps will work, just spoof the samsung firmware as Hitachi 46.

sn0wman1, You will need to dump the firmware off of the Hitachi drive and take a look at it in Jungle Flasher.

There are 4 different key locations for the 78/79 Hitachi. 4B00, 4C30, 4D20, 4E10. You will need to choose the firmware according to the key location.

I have the exact (opposite) question.
I have an xbox 360 with a stock samsung ms25 drive.
Now I got a Hitachi 79 drive which I want to put in my 360.

I found out ater googling for almost an hour I have to spoof the thing into a samsung (lucky I have my original firmware AND key saved on my computer)
So what I must do is (if I understood it like it is)
1> Load up my original firmware (samsung)
2> Click no when it asks if I want to load the firmware.
3> load up the LT+ firmware of the hitachi drive and spoof it into a samsung with my key

next question is...will I be able to play ap25 games still (Fable 3 and NFS)

[EDIT] I am not playing online with the 360 [/EDIT]

Just wondering around

I have a question ! I have spoofed my Hitachi drive as my old Samsung M28. Problem is, I want to flash with a new firmware after the new update. Do I use Hitachi or Samsung firmware ? Will the xbox update revert me back to the original samsung or hitachi fw (and will i need to re-spoof) ? sorry for the tons of questions, very confused person here :/
