I first bought this rrod 360 for $50 planning to go to like Costco or Superstore and saying that my 360 just rrod'd and let them take care of it for me. However, i checked under the faceplate and the sticker is ripped, so thats not an option. I want to find someone to fix it locally, I just don't feel comfortable shipping it out to someone on this site to fix it even though i'm fairly certain that there is someone here who can do a great job of it. So i went on craigslist and found this one guy who had a website ( http://www.westcoastmodders.com/xbox360.html ). Can someone check that out for me to see if it seems good or not. I really don't know much about this so i would like another opinion. He says there is a 30day warranty. Also, does any1 know how permanent this would be?
PS. I normally wouldn't care about it being good or not, because of the warranty but I plan to trade this 360 away for a ps3 (yes, i already found someone who will trade). So i wanna make sure this is good. So ya, sry for the long unnecessary story but i just had to type it out.
i haven't told him it was a 360 that had the rrod YET. I will as soon as I can get some info. Like the question i asked, can any1 look at that site for me and tell me if it looks ok.
I dont know but $50 for a RROD fix seems a little steep considering how easy a fix it actually is, but I would do it if you have someone lined up to trade a ps3 for it. Also these fixes are never guaranteed to be permanent, but if you're trading the console it shouldn't matter. It could be months before it RROD again.
*NOTE* Good job on finding someone to trade a ps3 for the 360. A few months back I traded a fixed RROD console and a old iphone for a macbook pro from some guy off craigslist, and by now i'm sure that console has Red ringed again, but its been so long since we've traded. Also I did the honest thing and told him that it was previouly fixed and he was cool with it, Go figure lol.....

Well, it's amazing what you can do with craigslist. Also, on the craigslist ad, I put that I would throw in some extra cash. Which was totally good with me because i got the rrod 360 for $50 off craigslist with a controller. All i have to do is get it repaired, buy a 20gb hdd (again off craigslist because you can get it for so much cheaper). So basically 50(rrod 360) + 30-50(to get repaired) + 50-75 (for HDD) + 75-100 (extra cash to make the person with ps3 feel more like trading with me). So at the worst, i'm paying 275 for a ps3 which is an amazing deal.
