Yes, there is a custom firmware called 4.01m33-2 but there is also a cfw 5.00m33-4, you will need a pandora battery and magic memorystick to be able to install any cfw on your psp!!!!!!!!

but for getting custom firmware ON official 4.01 out of the box, none.
