a) you never play any game on LIVE, you only play games offline, backup or otherwise, but you do connect to LIVE. ethernet cable remains plugged in.

b) you play original games on LIVE. you also play backups but not on LIVE. ethernet cable remains plugged in.

c) you play backups offline, but never while the ethernet cord is plugged in. you don't even load the game onto the DVD tray if an ethernet cord is plugged in

d) you have never, not one time in the life of the console, played or loaded a backup game.

e) you play backups on LIVE

For the sake of consistency assume that the backups are all properly made and mulleter/abgx 360 green flagged. Also assume that the 360 in question was modded using the iXtreme firmware, possibly version 1.4.

first thing, you need to search for your answers, they have been asked ans answered many times before.
second and last thing, a modded console will most definitely get banned regardless of what you do or dont do.
but hey, for $199.00 who cares, just buy another.

Another day, another thread asking if this or that can get you banned.

You can get banned from xbox live for numerous reasons. You can also be banned while NOT modded if you're a dickhead to enough people.

If you mod your box, in ANY way... you violate the TOS of Live and could/can/will be banned. Stop asking the same shit daily.

I don't see why you just don't connect anyhow.Either way your not on live.I hope you don't think changeing your firmware back to stock is going to save you cause it won't.You will be fine connecting and if not you was doomed along time ago.

been playing burned games on live for quite a long time now...no ban. If you burn your games right and keep with the firmware updates...your fine for now untill ms finally installs little bugs in our consoles and comes to our houses to shoot our knee caps out for even attempting to play a burned game........it will come to that MS always goes all the way.
