Help with Lite on dvd drive

Alright i've recently gotten an xbox 360 and want to get the new update hacked firmware for it but
everywhere I've read i need some type of piece like ck3 or something and i have 2 questions

1.Why do i need this and can you guys just like post a website with a tut on how to make one myself??

2.In most diagrams i need to do something to get the dvd drive power in order to dump the key and what not,
why can't i just use my xbox 360 to supply power?

1. look it up yourself why you need it. And no one is going to post a website to explain how to make one. There are threads which already do this.

2. Assuming you do buy a key reader, it will be able to power your drive so you don't have to with your 360.
