Hi I got a dreambox 500 for christmas and it has not worked since I got it. does anybody have new codes for it as i think that is what i need. thank you

I dont know what else to do. I have flashed it. went through all the treads about the drembox 500 and it is still not working. I dont know what im doin wrong. I have this box since the start of december I havent been able to get it working, IS their anything else I might be doing wrong. it just seems to be searcing for a signal all the time. please help!!!!
did you flash with the null modem cable method, I did 5 over xmas with this method and from this link and it worked no problems, I'd never done them before and i don't own one, Take a look at link below and see if it helps.
hey thank you for that help. yea I've done it with that method. It doesnt seem to work. I dont know If I just have a very dodgey box or something, feel like throwing it out the window at this stage but I dont have the moeny for a new one. Thanks for your help.
Download DreamUP and the DreamUP image. I used the versions that are in this post.
1. Got to a supplier (e.g. m@plin) to buy the cable. Look on their website and use part code L68BT
2. Plug one end on the COM port on the 500C
3. Plug the other end into your PC
4. Switch off the 500C
5. Start DreamUP, untick use network. Select your com port. COM1 usually these days.
6. Press Connect
7. Powerup the 500C, you will see a message saying box connected.
8. Press flash
9. Select the DreamUp image that you downloaded earlier.
10. You will be asked do you want to erase the flash. Click No
11. It will take approx 15 minutes to copy. (go for a dump, make a brew whatever)
12. Once it has copied reboot the box
13. Press menu, go into setup.
14. Automatic Scan for new services
15. Bruteforce UK.
16. Once it has found a transponder it will ask to scan for new services.
17. Takes 15 minutes (again go for a dump or make a brew)
18. Once all the channels have scanned exit out of the menu.
19. You are now finished. Everything should be there in all it's glory.
Also did you enable or restart evocamd after you scanned for channels to do this hold info button for 2-3 seconds, menu will open for evocamd enable, go back to channels go to a channel with strong signal and wait for it to come in :)

well anto ive came home every day from work and tried the dreambox. I know seem to have all the channels coming in telling me whats on ,times and programmes are right just cant be seen or heard. going to go through the treads to see what else to do.it probably something simple. thanks for all your help last week
