Helo can anyone tell me what firmware I should use as I am geting a starview 4 usb and I do know.I have a starview the box I keep up to date with the help of your forum.

V1.07, you`ll find it in The B0x Super USB folder in eamos under my sig.

Howya gicser,no bother, you`re welcome.Glad everything went ok mate. You can still use the favourites option, sports, movies, etc. I know its not what you`re looking for, but its the nearest to channel sorting you`ll get.

Hi
i have box super usb my box was losing channels so i factory reset it now there are loads of channels such as e4 etc.
i have version 1.07 updated please help

i dont seee what the prob is..your getting more channels now from what i can read in your post..make sure your emu is on,togain viewing to tthe dollar sign channels..hope that helps

Hi, this may sound really dumb but how can I make sure the emu is on? I have downloaded the latest firmware but I'm still struggling to watch the $ chanels.
Please help!!!

Press menu, type 1570 on remote and make sure keycode is on.

Hi There,
I have bought a starview 4 "The box Super USB" I was downloading the firm ware and the screen wnet blank for ages so i switched it off. When i switch it back on the screen is blank and the box states code 8820.
can anyone help?

yep its bricked!! at the moment there is no fix for it,so send it back to your supplier if you can and get it replaced.this a massive fault with sv4 usb and iam supprised no fix can be found.THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FOR STARVIEW NOT RELEASING A FIX FOR THE 8882 ISSUE AND ITS ALOT OF MONEY TO SHELL OUT FOR A DOOR STOP! TUT TUT STARVIEW YOU ARE LOOSING LOADS OF FURTHER CUSTOMERS DUE TO AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FAULT WITH THE STARVIEW 4 USB TO RECOVER FROM A BAD FLASH!!!!

maybe the 8882 problem can be fixed via jtag cable?i know of a few people that claim they can bring back to life the sv4 usb after a bad/interupted flash(8882)that bricks the box.

just be careful folks when flashing the sv4 usb,use a bit of common sense,use the RIGHT firmware for the flash that has been downloaded from a trusted link,DONT interupt the flash process,and make sure the usb stick is a good make(i use kingston 8gb datatraveler with no problems.)and its in good order with no other files on it apart from the .bin and logo(logo file only needed for the first flash.)files and the 2 back up files the sv4 adds to the usb stick once inserted. and the usb stick formatted to fat32.

Can anybody help me with this?
I just bought a starview 4 usb box, have had the original starview for years. I started it up, did an auto scan on N*L and got 141 stations, however most of them have a dollar sign beside them and are unavailable. If i press menu and 1570 nothing comes up, are these boxes different?
also do i need firmware?

You need to flash it with 1.07. All you need can be found in Eamos at the end of my post. Including brief instructions. In Dublin the categories will be a bit mixed up, but if you use the channel data file in Eamos it will be sorted correctly.

Thanks to all, flashed my mates new SV4 USB today, went very smooth. EPG really works well too
Reckon I will order one myself to replace my aged SV 1 model. Pity new one isnt in silver though!
BTW 1st cheap USB stick I tried wouldnt show on my laptop, plugged in a decent one from Crucial, no probs.

I have a starview 4 Super USB. i am able to view he $ channels but unable to find setanta or bbc when i scan.

try a factory reset and then rescan make sure you have keycode on. Reset should not remove any ware you have put on so just reset and rescan.

Hi Grap,
thanks for your advise but I tried that and its still the same. Im not getting Setanta,any BBC channel or channel 5.
Any other suggestions?

apart from the manual scan not really. Hopefully hiteck, malci or 1 of the other addicts see this post they will be a lot more help than me only an amatuer myself.
