I have a PSP 2001 that i bought in 2008. It is the silver model that came with the daxter game and the family guy UMD movie. I just want to know if it is possible to download games to play on it and if i have to mod it, and what steps i have to take if i do (links?). It currently has (thanks to my kids) the current Software version 5.02 on it downloaded and installed tonight. I know u guys get these questions alot, i just don't want to screw up my psp and thought i would ask the experts.

Of course it needs to be modded. Pandora battery and MMS is your route, but maybe if you wait a while something will come out of the sparta exploit and you won't need to.

the dangers of an exploit aren't really dagers because you can always revert back with a pandora battery if something DID go wrong. Usually if you follow instructions things don't go wrong.
