hi,
hope someone can help...
i have downloaded a 'scrubbed' Blom Blox PAL, unrared it and burn it on verb azo x16 with IMGBURN......but the wii does not even recognize the disc as an update or anything.....what was even stranger that i tried a game that did work after this only to find that the drive would not even spin the disc!! the only way i could get another game to work after trying Boom Blox was to turn off the wii....
i thought it might have been a bad burn so i tried again and got the same results.....i even tried downloading it again...
i have a PAL wii with a wiikey version 2 soldered and have 3.2E firmware

many thanxs
Gazza!!!

i have no idea what im doing...but i will get there!!!

Just go rent it like I did. Seems to me the wiikeys aren't that great. I've heard ups and downs, but I would never buy one since the softmod works just as good.

You don't need the original of Zelda. You can use a backup since you have a Mod chip installed.

I would install the homebrew channel and try booting it via gecko OS to see if that works (do not install the boot loader like suggested above) you don't need to FORCE NTSC since it is a PAL game on a PAL system. Plus you will have better compatibility with the Modchip then the boot loader.

Most of the time if you have issues booting (due to some exploit used) then booting it via Gecko OS bypasses the issue. As to the cause of the issue it could be numerous things.

ok guys...i give in......i will give the homebrew a try...

Download the game again and don't WiiBrickBlock it. Burn it as is and see if it boots.

If you want ease then download only PAL 1:1 games (not scrubbed) and don't patch them with WiiBrickBlock or region patches. Then update to the latest firmware available (since you do not want to use homebrew updating to latest firmware will be fine).

I suggested wiigator because it seems to play more games, but I'm in the U.S. I have gecko but it only plays some games. I'd stick with my own region.

I didn't say anythingabout forcing NTSC on, I said force PAL on. Just to try. I take it most pal system have better luck with the gecko os. My pal games won't play through it, but never tried booting with hooks. I always went it and force NTSC on for me (u.s.) and it doesnt' work on gecko but work son wii gator.

Modchips are 100% compatible with same region games. Where the bootloader is not. They are probably close to the same when it comes to Imports.

Gecko OS can be used to help Imports and patched games boot that may not be able to boot through the normal Game Disk channel when using a Modchip.

so if I'm using wii gator, do you think that gecko is pretty much worthless for me?
