just wanted to get your opinions before i order, i have a ps3 that recently stopped reading discs, not even spinning, console itself is great condition, but the drive don;t read discs. i have kem-400AAA repleacement lined up, just wanted your advice if this would fix my problem, i am pretty sure the pcb is good just wanted to make sure thanks!!
I believe that depends very much on what type of PS3 you're getting. (The kem-etc. model number is the model of the disc drive, correct?) If I'm right, the disc drive is married to the motherboard, so replacing the entire thing is impossible.
Besides that, if you CAN replace the drive, I believe there are certain drives for certain models of PS3s. I can't be too sure on that; someone else who's more knowledgeable in this area will be able to answer your question much more thoroughly than me.
thanks for the reply, i have already removed the kem-400AAA from my ps3. from what i hear the pcb is married to the motherboard. i have the kes-400AAA laser, but the kem-400AAA is the laser already assembled.
KEM-400AAA, i provided this link also to let you see what i am talking about.
