I've recently installed the most recent version of Dvd Rebuilder. I also installed CCE SP2 1.0.1.4. The installs went fine. However when I attempt to process a Dvd I'm getting the below message.
Could not open the file <F:\Build\D2VAVS\V01000200001003.m2v>
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Windows error code 0X20 32
I'm getting this message with each successive m2v file. I hit okay on the window and it starts processing then when its done the message pops up again with the next m2v file. I know the file is not in access. What's going on here? Has anyone seen this strange error before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I also meant to say that I'm using Vista Ultimate. Can someone recommend an alternative encoder other than CCE? TIA

With pleasure - try HC Encoder (free) now up to version 0.23, it's amazing and multi-core aware. You won't regret it.
I haven't seen the error message you described above, try HC Encoder and keep us posted..

I was having the exact same problem.
It all started when I installed Kaspersky Internet Security.
When KIS is running and active on my machine I got the same error message:
"Could not open the file <F:\Build\D2VAVS\V01000200001003.m2v>
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Windows error code 0X20 32"
As soon as I turned kaspersky off , DVD RB/CCE encoded every m2v file without errors.
Turning my anti virus off is what helped me.

I seem to remember a problem with some anti-virus programs.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Try AVG instead of Kaspersky

You could also try to add cctsp.exe to Kaspersky's "tusted zone".
That way the antivirus/firewall doesn't restrict and scan the encoder's running process.

Sorry for the bump but wanted to add to this. I never had a problem with DVD-RB and CCE SP2 in Win XP or Win Vista, only when i jumped to Win 7 did I get this error. I have run Nod32 anti virus on all three os installs, but it was never a problem before. I couldnt find a way to add CCE as a trusted app, so I just had to set it up not run a real time scan on M2V files and it fixed the problem.
