Hello. I was using the pandora method to get CFW onto my psp and it worked fine. I had 4.01 m33.
But then I though (because i'm dumb) that i needed to downgrade to 3.71 m33-4 to play this iso i wanted to play. So i repeated the method and BRICK.
I guess it's because i went backwards, i'm not sure.
I then tried to use a Downgrader that was suppose to take me from version 3.50 to 1.50 (i had 3.71 but i was hoping it would work) well it didn't. I used recovery to do this, now i can;t get back into recovery mode by pressing R trigger and up on power.
All i can do at this point is the pandora trick. I can get the light to go crazy and the option to install 3.71 m33 or offical 3.71 FW on my psp.
When i do this, it says instaliton succseful, press x to shut down. i do, but then when i turn it back on, the green light comes on then goes right off.
I don't know what to do.
I know now Slims can;t have 1.50 on them, i belive i put that on there when i was downgraing, that may be the problem. What do i do to fix it?
Also, I only have a pandor battery, is that the problem, do i need a non pandora bettery to start (i tried to buy one, but the stores around here don;t carry psp batteries anymore)
Also my Memory card has 3.71 on it, would it help if i got a newer firmware version and put it on there?
these are ideas, but im not sure which to try because they all are gonna cost me money and i don;t want to spend all that just to find out i need to buy a new psp anyway.

Try making the Magic Memory Stick again. Here is very good tutorial which gives you 5.00 m33-4. And I don't understand why your ISO needs 3.71 m33?? All ISOs should work in 5.00 m33-4.

I don't know why everyone seems to think iso's won't run on anything but 3.71m33....it's not like a miracle firmware. everything after it runs iso's just fine too! ne ways just doo what EET said.

Yes, you need to put a regular psp battery in the system. The pandora battery is only for installing the CFW. You can find one online at dealextreme.com or ebay. Don't install the 1.50 firmware on a slim. Just use the 3.71 m33 and then you can upgrade to the lates 5.00 m33-4 just by putting it on you memory card and running it in the dashboard of your psp with regular battery.

WOW, thx for all the input, i was on PSPMOD and i got very little help from them.
I got my PSP UNBRICKED< WOOT!!! and im on 4.01 m33 2.
I was very happy to see it turn back on, really.
But i have a new problem now. I have no Mac Address.
I can play music, but when i put a UMD in it says disc can not be read.
So i loaded a Demo to the memory stick and it says "Game can not be played, wrong region code"
but its a american psp and a american demo i got from the sony web site, it used to work.
What do i do now?
I'll probaly make another thread exactly for this new problem, but if you already see this thread and know, pls tell me, thx

You could try making sure that the MM driver is being used, goto the VSH menu (which is the CFW settings menu)by pressing select in the psp dashboard then go down to UMB ISO MODE and make sure its set to mm driver and then exit the menu and try to run your games again. As far as the mac address I'm not sure.

I think what Iconaw1 means to say is m33 driver, not trying to correct him, Also you can change the region in the recover menu. Hold r trigger while booting and then go to configuration and check what your region is set as, you can also change your UMD driver there, to m33. If it is a demo then you won';t need to change the UMD driver, only when you play downloaded full games.

Ok all better.
This is what i did.
Using the pandora trick and a MMS with 4.01 on it. I noticed there was a thing called NAND operation.
Going threw thoes options, i saw something that let me try to recover my original Mac Adress. Didn't work, so it then asked me to make a new random one. I read places that this sometimes don't work and it bricks your psp, but i tried it and it worked, it made a new mac for me.
Now everything is fine.
Thx for all your help
(note: the fake region thing in the recovery menu doesn't fix the mac thing.)

the fake region wont fix the mac problem, just the UMD problem.
